SEA x DIVER: FISHPEOPLE (Lives Transformed by the Sea)

Updated: Apr 18

It's difficult for me to find the right words to explain why diving can bring about a transformative positive change for everyone. Until I saw this short film FISHPEOPLE, they captured my feelings and thought very well.

I learned to dive decade ago, it was one of the best decision I made in my life. Diving has taught me about the ocean, and it has transformed me in a positive way. The sea has given me a wonderful, healthy and stoke life, for which I am graceful everyday. The sea is not just about the fish and corals you can see, you have to experience it for yourself. Presented by Patagonia and directed by Keith Malloy, FISHPEOPLE tells the stories of a unique cast of characters who have dedicated their lives to the sea. From surfers and spearfishers to long-distance swimmers, a former coal miners and a group of at risk kids, it's a film about the transformative effects of time spent in the ocean — and how we can leave our limitations behind to find deeper meaning in the saltwater wilderness that lies just beyond the shore.

FISHPEOPLE: Lives Transformed by the Sea

"..It's soothed pains that are really real.. when my dad died, I just kept going to the ocean, and it made a huge difference.. So that's why it's not just play.. it's more meaningful than that.." FISHPEOPLE, Dave Rastovich, Surfer
